I help the
Heart of Kent Hospice with their publicity photographs. I’d not come across the idea of “Rainbow” or “colour” runs before the Hospice announced they were organising one. What a fantastic event it turned out to be!

More than 1,000 fun runners of all ages took part, on a perfect Sunday morning. “Taking part” meant running, jogging or walking 5 kilometres and at five points on the route, having people throw specially made coloured powder paint at you. The powder has been specially developed for events like this, and is based on corn starch.

It almost goes without saying that it was all very colourful. The atmosphere of the whole thing was superb, and local radio station KM-FM supported the event throughout.

You will find my photographs
here

You can download photos from the gallery. Here’s how:

Click on any of the small images and you will get a larger version on screen. Underneath that larger version is a link to “Original Image”. Click that link and you will see a .jpg version of the photo. Right mouse-click on that and save this to wherever you want to save it. The exact way you save the image will be different on some computers and with some browsers, and may be completely different on ‘phones and tablets, but that’s a guide.

Now, the important stuff: I am not charging for the photos from the Rainbow Run. However, I do hope that if you download any of the photos, you will want to make a small donation to the Heart of Kent Hospice. There is a “Donate” button on their Just Giving page
here. If you want to pay in another way, here is the page from the Hospice web site that will tell you how to do that. Can I recommend a donation of £5 for each photo you download.

Please note: If anyone offers to sell you photos of the Rainbow Run, please say no. There were only two official photographers working at the event. Neither of us are selling the photographs. We’re just suggesting that you make a donation directly to the Hospice.

Thank you.
